R4i wood firmware has been udpated to v1.47 and it can directly compatible with 3DS V4.0.0-7 and DSi V1.44,you can download it from here : Wood V1.47

Just as most of players knew,in the normal case,r4i gold 3ds can perfectly compatible with 3DS V4.0.0_7 and dsi v1.44 without any udpating needed. We have tested it as well.But,if unluckily,you have met some problems,such as black screen and so on when operate your r4i gold 3ds card on your 3ds v3.0.0_6,please dont worry,you can try following ways to recovery your card :

First,make assure whether you have used the latest firmware,if you dont use it,then,please try to download the latest firmware v1.47 :   Wood V1.47 ,unzip it ,then open the folder, copy the root files into your micro sd card and insert it into r4i gold 3ds and put them together in your console and power it to see whether it was working.

If you have used the latest wood firmware already,but  it was still out of work,please try following two ways to recovery your card : 

1.If you use NDS/NDSL

You should get a NDSL and another flashcard(such as : ak2i,dstwo,r4i sdhc or any one card ,here i called "A"), which works properly on NDSL.

1.Download the latest WOOD R4 firmware from http://www.digitopz.com/r4i-gold-3ds-flashcard-for-nintendo-3ds-p-216.html and unzip it to the root directory of your Micro SD card;
2.Download DSi v1.44 update patch here :DSi V1.44 updated patch,unzip it ,you will get two files,one is 3DS22Patch_R4iGold3DS_NDSL.nds, the other one is 3DS22Patch_R4iGold3DS_NDSi.nds and just copy R4iGold3DS_V144_Patch_NDSL.nds to your Micro SD card;
3.Just power your NDSL on and boot up R4iGold3DS_V144_Patch_NDSL.nds with "A" card;
4.Take "A" card out of the NDSL;
5.Reinsert your broken R4i Gold 3DS card into the NDSL;
6.Press KEY_A and the updating process will begin;
7.You should keep your NDSL powered on during the updating process;
8.IF the result shows SUCCESS, it means you have updated your R4i Gold 3DS successfully and this card can work on
 
2. If you use NDSi V1.4.3and 3DS 3.0.0-6;

1.Download the latest WOOD R4 firmware : http://www.digitopz.com/r4i-gold-3ds-flashcard-for-nintendo-3ds-p-216.html and unzip it to the root directory of your Micro SD card;
2.Download the DSi v1.44 update patch from DSi V1.44 updated patch,unzip it and just Copy R4iGold3DS_V144_Patch_NDSi.nds to your Micro card;
3.You should get a NDSi or a Nintendo 3DS whose version is under V4.0.0-7 to complete the updating process;
4.Just power your NDSi on and boot up R4iGold3DS_V144_Patch_NDSi.nds
5.Attention:do not take out your R4i Gold 3DS card;
6.Press KEY_A and the updating process will begin;
7.You should keep your NDSi powered on during the updating process;
8.IF the result shows SUCCESS, it means you have updated your R4i Gold 3DS successfully and this card can work on .

( In fact.The updating way of flashcart was similar,so this guide can be applied to other flashcart too.)
